Google CES 2020 | Las Vegas, NV

Premise

Google wanted a set of interactive kiosks to show off various Google Home products and features. Deeplocal’s designers created six separate exhibits across three kiosks, each consisting of a diorama featuring a different Google Home product or service. Each diorama was triggered with a button mounted to a table top.

My Role

I designed a system for each diorama based around a Raspberry Pi and custom PCB with connectivity for buttons, LEDs, relays and other various controllers; I designed the PCB and wrote the firmware with robustness in mind, providing a mode-select feature so that one PCB could be used across all exhibits. I also helped prototype a custom wooden button with a soft-lit LED ring for the kiosks as well as provided on-the-ground installation and support during the event.
