Background

I designed a battery-less proof of concept of my AML100-REF-1 demo board. Instead of a CR123A battery, the board utilized a super capacitor for energy storage and an ambient-light photovoltaic cell for energy harvesting. This was a demo device used for demonstrating the AML100’s always-on ultra low power sensing. In addition to the AML100, the board also features a microphone, power measurement circuitry and a bluetooth SoC (STM32WB) for remote alerting.
